After yesterday's drive, the car shouldn't be moved. So I rode my bike 10km in the morning to buy some groceries at Aldi.
Unfortunately, there is nothing within walking distance here, so we decided to head towards Dover Castle to see the tunnels there. We also wanted to check the traffic situation at the tunnel and ferry. But the only traffic we found was the visitors in front of the castle. Even the overflow car park was already crowded, so we ended up going towards White Cliffs.
To our (except for Moritz) great delight, there were also tunnels there. The slightly longer path along the cliffs was beautiful, but it smelled a bit due to the exhaust fumes from the numerous ferries.
From time to time, we could even see France, but also 2 empty refugee inflatable boats that were brought ashore by the coast guard.
So we visited a guided tour of the tunnels. It was quite interesting and impressive to see what was built here to prevent the passage of German ships into the Mediterranean.
We also achieved the goal of "getting rid of cash". In the morning, we had 90 pounds, now they're gone.
But tomorrow, the car really should stay put...
