Today we rented a car again. We thought it would be smart to rent a car each day to save on the overnight parking fee and return it in the evening. However, that was not smart, rather time-consuming. When we returned to our Hertz provider, there were even more people ahead of us than the day before. And once again, everything moved very slowly. After almost two hours, we were called up and reached the counter.
Then came the process of picking up the car in the basement. All very unsatisfactory, especially considering the lost time. Some attractions require booking time slots. If you think in advance that you can be on the road with the rental car after an hour at the latest, you are in trouble. Fortunately, we didn’t have that time pressure, but still, hours were lost.
With the car, we headed to the north side of the island. Our route was supposed to take us to the northern part of Oahu today. Snorkeling at Sharks Bay. Armed with our masks, we immediately dove into the underwater world. However, beforehand, we could already spot some colorful, albeit small, fish in the clear water. More moving images could only be captured with the GoPro, so those are missing here.
Since we liked it here so much, time passed quickly. A detour was made to the North Shore, a famous surfing area with the best waves when the season allows. Now, it wasn’t really that way, but the waves were still quite impressive to our eyes. A few surfers still frolicked in the water.
A visit to Turtle Bay, which was supposed to present us with sea turtles, fell through because the turtles were not in the mood to show themselves.
We continued on to Kualoa Park. Here, we were once again near the cliffs and could admire the Chinese Hat in the sea.
Here, we also met the rooster that tried to wake us up each morning …
With that, we concluded this day and returned the car.
