Thailand#Island Fever

Change of countries - At the beginning of July, I said goodbye to India and my next destinations were Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

Even my flight excited me. I flew with Singapore Airlines via Singapore to Bangkok and was fascinated: starting with the beautiful dresses of the stewardess as well as the service and the airport in Singapore.

But my destination was Bangkok. From there, I wanted to continue to Koh Samui by train. Easier said than done, because there was nowhere at the airport to buy the ticket I wanted. At Hua Lamphong train station, I tried my luck to see if I could still get a cheap joint ticket to Koh Samui with the night train for the same evening. And it worked: for 1000 baht, equivalent to 25€, I arrived on the island by train and ferry. Thank goodness!

On Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, I was blessed with wonderful, affordable accommodations (New Hut Bungalow & Coral Bungalow) and the meeting of old and new friends. That's also what I love about traveling, because friends you meet once, you always meet a second time. So it happened that a Mexican couple, whom I had met on my first day in Delhi in April, was on Koh Phangan at the same time as me. So we finally got to see each other again and get to know each other even better.

I enjoyed the days on these islands very much. I discovered my love for Thai food. I was delighted with the delicious fruit and the great Thai desserts. I sunbathed on the beach, discovered waterfalls, and strolled along the coast. I wandered through food markets and browsed in souvenir shops.

One highlight was that I could snorkel for the first time. It was only briefly because there were waves and the water was too shallow. But now I know: I want to do that again!
