We are driving from Freiburg through Switzerland to Italy. The knowledgeable person will remember that we have to cross the Alps on the way. The Gotthard Tunnel is supposed to help us with that.
Unfortunately, there is an accident / traffic congestion, or what do I know, in any case, a traffic jam. So we take a detour and my wife confidently chauffeurs us over the Gotthard Pass.
Arriving at Lake Iseo, we set up camp, go swimming multiple times - it is very very hot, 34 degrees - and relax at our base. In the evening, we go out to eat in town.
The next day we ride our bikes along the lake shore to the north in the morning; accompanied by aggressive delivery vans and competitive cyclists. We survive, check the departure times of the ferry to the island in the lake in Sulzano and after a short refreshment, we head back to the campsite.
In the afternoon, we get a delicious Fiorentina steak and some vegetables - it is grilled.
The next day we take the train to Brescia. 3.30 euros per person and we arrive in Brescia nonstop 30 minutes later.
Back from Brescia, after another, multiple waterings, we have fresh pasta with ragu and salad.
