Day 5 - Usedom to Hof Gronow

פֿאַרעפֿנטלעכט: 22.08.2016

We continued to Hof Gronow, which is located between Strelasund and Greifswald. We discovered this place when our desire to see the Baltic Sea became too big to continue driving on the main roads. As many roads simply led nowhere, we had to turn back several times and look for new routes. Stubbornly, we continued searching until we found a road on the navigation system that led directly to the sea. Since we had nothing to lose by trying this route, we set off. What stood out - we found a little idyll. There was a slightly larger strip of sand occupied by three or four families, but right next to it was a smaller strip of sand - perfect for us. To avoid attracting attention, we waited until no one was there anymore and then set up our tent right by the sea. While we watched the sun go down, one flock of migratory birds after another flew overhead heading south. When the sun was down, the blood-red full moon appeared on the horizon. From the entrance of the tent, we admired this natural spectacle and realized how incredibly beautiful it was.

The night was magnificent. In the morning, we woke up at such an ideal time that we could admire the sunrise right away.
