7.11.18 Jaipur - Mandawa

After a restful night, we are ready for more adventures. As always, Ramesh is ready at 8:30 am sharp. Our journey takes us through the city center of Jaipur and then towards Mandawa, into the more rural area. After a good three-hour drive, with heavy traffic due to Diwali, we arrive at our hotel for today, the Mandawa Castle. It is the landmark of Mandawa. The local guide welcomes us and after check-in, we go on a city tour. Mandawa was located on the Silk Road and here we find many old trade houses, havelis, which we visit. In the city, on the streets and at the market, there is a huge hustle and bustle, everyone is still shopping for Diwali. With the honking horns, narrow alleyways, and traffic, it is quite overwhelming for us. After the tour, we enjoy relaxing by the pool and treat ourselves to a massage. Unfortunately, the pool where we have time now is not the most attractive... In the evening, the castle is beautifully illuminated. After dinner, as almost always so far, an Indian buffet, we watch the many fireworks from one of the castle terraces. That is a tradition during Diwali. The noise of the firecrackers accompanies us throughout the night.
