Nass, windig, stickig und trotzdem traumhaft schön? - Boats! We spent two days on a sailing boat, slept two nights in a bed that was too small and too hot, and it was simply indescribably cool. It started with being picked up at the pier from where we drove to the first snorkeling spot. On the way, we actually had the opportunity to sail properly, which was pretty cool but also pretty strange when the boat tilted so strongly to the side. We talked to people, observed the sea and the islands, and simply relaxed. When we arrived at the snorkeling spot, we could admire a beautiful reef. Unfortunately, we were only allowed to go into the water with a wetsuit to reduce the chance of touching a jellyfish. Afterwards, we went back to the boat to chill and talk to people until dinner was served (incredibly delicious mashed potatoes with meat and vegetables). The next day, we had to get up early so that we could go to Whitehaven Beach early. The view from there and the water were indescribable, you can't capture that in pictures or show it to you. We even saw a very small shark (lemon sharks). We spent a few hours there before going on the next snorkeling trip, where there were incredibly many fish! They were actually swimming right next to us (sometimes even on us)! The next snorkeling stop was quite similar and at the same time of course completely different. Unfortunately, the reef is pretty much dead, it is growing again and we could still see cool plants, but on both trips, the focus was actually on the fish. Then the day was almost over and we spent the rest of it on the boat with spaghetti bolognese for dinner. On the last morning, snorkeling trip number 4 came and there you could see both an impressive reef and cool fish (my personal favorite stop even though it was at 6 in the morning). Then we went straight back to Airlie Beach from where we drove to our campsite and had a good sleep first! The rest of the afternoon was spent comfortable until we went to a nearby bar in the evening with the people from our boat. The next morning, we had to move on again and say goodbye to the Dutch girls. We drove together to Townsville and had lunch there before Linda and I continued to Tully.
Unfortunately, most of it is videos, which I can't add.
