Now we are already on the way home. Three and a half months have already passed...
There is not much to tell about our last stops. We visited many beautiful islands with wooded cliffs and dreamy beaches, some more touristy, some more deserted.
From the snorkeling paradise Ko Tao, we continued away from the Thai Gulf to the southeast side of the country, to the islands of the Andaman Sea west of the mainland.
Our first stop here was the largely forgotten island Koh Yao Noi, which leads an inconspicuous existence between the tourist hotspots Phuket and Krabi on the mainland, west and east of the island respectively. To get there, we had to go to a pier on the mainland, which is mainly frequented by locals, because this island is not served by the large main piers with tourist boats from Krabi.
So we were brought there by a longtail boat full of locals and a load of brooms and mangoes for the island, through beautiful wooded cliffs that rise out of the water everywhere. All further transfers were less adventurous and took place on large ferries full of other tourists and well organized.
We were still on Ko Lanta, which is also a very pretty island, but has the least rich plant life and has clearly been disfigured by tourism. It is the only island of our trip that we would not visit again, the others were simply more beautiful or more secluded.
Finally, we ended up at Laem Tong Bay on Koh Phi Phi, which has a truly paradise-like beach. So picturesque and with a colorful underwater world directly on the beach, it offers relative seclusion and moderate tourism. However, paradise has its price, as this exclusive location is extremely reflected in the prices for food, drinks and accommodation. But for us, it was worth its money at the end, and with our heads full of beautiful pictures and completely relaxed, we are now on our way home...
