The Big Day

At 7 am, the alarm clock rang. The big day had arrived, the start of our journey together. The excitement and nervousness are building up. With our big backpacks, we head to check-in. There's no turning back. We have a coffee with our loved ones and say goodbye for the next 3 1/2 months, tears rolling down our cheeks as we go through security check. On the Singapore Airlines A380, the journey is comfortable. Our flight to Singapore lasts twelve hours, a little sleep, movies, and delicious food make the twelve hours feel very short. In Singapore, we have a three-hour layover before continuing to Phuket. This flight lasts just under an hour. Once we land at the airport, we go through passport control. Then we buy SIM cards for our phones. After almost 24 hours on the road, Jeeranun takes us to our home for the next 14 days, a very modern little bungalow. Quite tired from the travel strain, we go to dinner at the nearby Cafe 32120 and then fall exhausted into bed. .........
