Bicycle Path Marking in Sweden or the journey is the destination

Spoiled by the good bicycle path marking in Denmark, we assumed that we could navigate Sweden without additional maps... A misconception, in Sweden the counties are responsible for marking the bicycle paths. Everything went according to plan until Gothenburg. The way out of Gothenburg became more challenging, the signs became scarce. Outside of Gothenburg, we only found sporadic signs for the tour, often heavily weathered and overgrown. We actually had to use my navigation system, which was supposed to show us the way only in the cities.

With a tailwind and sunshine, we mastered some hills - we reached our destination for today, Stenungsund at Hakefjorden, after about 80 km.

The weather, pure luxury, tonight we felt like at the Adriatic Sea... great harbor with yachts and sport boats... pure sunset over the fjord... with hills and beautiful wooden houses... that's Sweden.

The signage in the countryside is getting worse, or is no longer available at all. We only managed the tour to Norway with the help of a navigation system!
