3 times we will still be awake, hurray then it's Ironman day...

פֿאַרעפֿנטלעכט: 10.10.2019

Yesterday was so eventful that we need to process it all properly today. That's why the alarm clock doesn't ring today, we enjoy our breakfast overlooking 'Legoland' Kona, after all the number of these breakfasts is counted.... But we don't think about that now!

Then we drive down to Kona, when we arrive here at 8.00 a.m., it's teeming with athletes and vacationers from a cruise ship that has docked in the harbor. It's almost too crowded for us here and since there is no professional athlete here this time, we quickly look for a way out. On the way back to the car, we watch an ARD live video with Otto Tylkowski, who, as we later find out, is a German participant in the World Championship and is competing here in Kona for the 13th time...

But now it's off to Turtle Beach, where we spend the morning, enjoying the peace and sound of the sea, we review the events of yesterday - we still can't believe what happened to us!

After that, I'm going swimming before we take a little break at home. In the Kona Daily Reportage, we learn that no VIP athlete has been here in Kona this morning - so it seems that we haven't missed anything.

In the afternoon, we enjoy ourselves again at the beach, discover a huge turtle resting on the shore, and watch as it takes almost an hour to get back into the water. It's really a spectacle, with each wave that reaches it, we think that it is finally swinging its fins towards the water, but we are usually convinced otherwise. But when the tide really comes in, it finally seeks refuge and disappears underwater within 2 minutes.

Then we simply enjoy the atmosphere here a little longer, occasionally a turtle pops its head out of the water, I knit socks at the beach at 32 degrees and don't want to think about the fact that I will soon be doing this activity again at home in the snow!

By the way, from Turtle Beach you also have the perfect view of the island of Maui - if only we could turn back time...

Before we watch the sunset from Kahala'u Beach, we quickly buy a top that I still want to design as my personal fan shirt for Saturday. That's why we also need a few fabric markers with which I can transfer my design, which I have already imagined in my head, onto the shirt.

Finally, there is another fantastic sunset for this day, which we enjoy to the fullest.
