Hello everyone, we have now arrived in Ontario, were in Canada's capital Ottawa, then in the museum village "Upper Canada Village" and are currently staying with a distant relative of Elke. She lives on a huge, beautiful property by a river. Her husband (87) has an impressive collection of vintage cars and still tinkers with the vehicles every day. They are very hospitable, but we insisted on staying in the camper.
In general, all Canadians treat us very kindly, especially because we have German license plates and a German vehicle. Some overtake us on the highway, stop briefly at the same level and wave at us.
At a campsite in Quebec, a young French-Canadian couple asked us if we would stay another night and they would pay for it. The couple had only drunk beer and smoked hashish the day before. It was certainly meant kindly, but we said goodbye in a friendly manner...
