Departure, today is travel day again! So that we don't forget how beautiful it is, we're getting rain again this morning. And fog. And wind. Oh Bergen, it was really nice with you 😄
So our new destination is the Sognefjord. We want to look for a nice place here and stay for a few days. But until then, Natascha is looking for little highlights while driving. And is happy about every waterfall. A hike to one still has to be planned somewhere, Natascha loves waterfalls 🥰 and with every kilometer the weather slowly got better, the sun gradually dared to come out and the first wisps of blue appeared in the sky between the clouds. The weather is slowly getting better for us again, yay!
On our tour today we passed more mountains and rivers than the fjords themselves. But they are also wonderful to look at. But what was most visible today: tunnels. One after the other. Including the longest road tunnel in the world - the Lærdalstunnel. If you're expecting something spectacular, sorry folks. There was a bit of a light show to see, otherwise it was just a very long 24.5 km.
That makes arriving all the nicer. We've set our sights on the corner of Sogndal and our new campsite probably belongs in the luxury league, but you can't treat yourself to anything else. Beautifully located directly on a tributary of the Sognefjord, the Norafjord.
Check-in is only possible later in the evening, so we chose one of the many nice places, set up and used the time for the important things. Cooking and eating. Finally fresh again today 😅 This is a really good way to endure it.
At dusk we enjoyed the beautiful view for a while and with full bellies and a lot of contentment in every single cell of our bodies, we snuggled up in our little trailer. The next hike is on the agenda tomorrow and we are already looking forward like little children to the next impressions that await us.
