Canada - Day 2(1) - City tour in Vancouver

The first night in Canada was quite short. We both woke up at 1 am and thought it was already morning. At 5 am, the night was finally over. Earlier than expected, we drove to downtown Vancouver to have breakfast. The traffic at this time on a Saturday wasn't so bad yet and we were able to park in one of the various parking garages. Surprisingly, it was only six dollars for the whole day. The breakfast was quite heavy: an Egg & Cheese Burger. But delicious! Strengthened, we walked around the city on foot.

So early in the morning, there wasn't much going on yet. We walked down to the harbor and watched the seaplanes taking off and landing. Then we went to Canada Place, where we could admire the oversized cruise ships. After that, we went to Stanley Park, which deserves its own contribution.

After spending quite a while in Stanley Park, we bought a hot dog at English Bay, one of Vancouver's city beaches. Good and cheap! By now, it was already noon and we headed to Robson Street, Vancouver's shopping mile. There we got a Canadian SIM card and exchanged money. I also found my beloved Hersheys chocolate there! Cookies and Cream; the best chocolate there is :D We then walked to Gastown, and our feet were already hurting quite a bit.

By the way, Vancouver is known for its homeless people. Although no one bothers you, their presence can be seen and felt everywhere. So many destroyed lives! I also noticed the constant smell of grass. No, not the kind that lawns are made of...

It was only halfway through the day and we had already seen most of Vancouver. And somehow, we were also not in the mood for the city anymore. Everyone always raves about how beautiful Vancouver is. Well, compared to other big cities, that may be true, but in our opinion, the most beautiful thing about Vancouver is Stanley Park. However, we are not really city people. So, first we thought about going back to Stanley Park, but we really didn't feel like walking all the way back there. So, we walked back to the car and drove to Lynn Canyon, which was located in North Vancouver on the other side of the shore.
