A bus ride that is beautiful... long

After four days of shopping in Chinatown, at the Chatuchak Market and various malls, delicious food and stuffy city air in Bangkok, Ilonka's vacation was already over and I made my way back to the island. I bought a ticket for an overnight bus to Krabi and had a 12-hour journey ahead of me. Or so I thought. Due to the bad weather and heavy rains, roads and bridges were damaged and the bus ride ultimately took 41 hours. Despite two nights on the bus, it was great and interesting to see how relaxed the Thai people were with the delay, and I also used the time to read, watch Thai comedies, and was quite relaxed. In addition, the police station on the highway opened its doors and we were provided with rice, eggs, and coffee. In the end, I was very happy to arrive in Krabi and was most looking forward to the shower :)
