Today we woke up again at half past six.
It rained half the night. The temperatures were accordingly cold. But our warm muesli warmed us up again.
Yesterday evening we had a "visit" from a cyclist. She asked us where the roads were closed/flooded. We were of course able to give her information. And we also found out, as she was coming from the other direction, that we shouldn't take the signposted cycle path at the beginning. So it's a win-win situation :-)
And so we set off on safe footing and started pedalling. We had to turn back once though because it had rained during the night. And then some of the streets were flooded again. Not so bad because we already have experience and just carried on along the country road.
Around midday we were at the castle of Azay-le-Rideau. We could only photograph it from a distance, as it is closed from 12-2pm and we were not allowed to enter at quarter to 12. The timing was probably wrong.
In front of the castle there was a Carrefour Express and we bought lunch there: cream of pumpkin soup, bread and a fine cheese.
After lunch we continued towards Tours and enjoyed coffee and cake in the warmth. It only rained briefly. Otherwise it was always windy (against the wind) and a little warm around 16-20 degrees.
We then went to the Camping Tours Les Acacias. It was fairly empty, but we were still asked if we had a reservation. We took our place, put up the tent and I quickly went to the nearby supermarket to buy breakfast.
When I came back, I wanted to take a shower, but there was a sign on the door saying "hot water not working". So we had a quick wash and then went to the campsite restaurant and had salad and a pizza. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly warm there either.
Now we are sitting in the lounge and washroom and ending the evening with a glass of wine.
