We are excited to tell you about our exciting trip to Brazil again. The first stop, Rio de Janeiro, is already over and we really enjoyed the last day to the fullest! ☺ Soooo... let's get started!
Today we took a city tour to see all the mainstream attractions in Rio that you must see. Brazilians are not so punctual - so first things first: waiting. 😏
But hey, we were not forgotten (how could you forget us 😋) and off we went to the Sugar Loaf (Portuguese: Pāo de Açúcar). We don't want to withhold something very special that happened on the Sugar Loaf. We were still rolling around for hours afterward 😂:
https://youtu.be/FwXeGj6ROSsBut well. We didn't see any monkeys 🐒😐. But we had a breathtaking view of Rio de Janeiro with its most beautiful beaches and bays. For South American standards, the cable car was actually quite safe 🙈 However, we had thick clouds that occasionally ruined a photo. We also immortalized ourselves and of course our beloved Germany 😍
Phew. After that, we had lunch. As if we didn't have enough of it already, Churrasco. Of course, it was all-you-can-eat and although Marie claimed to be fed up with meat, she ended up having 3 beef fillets again 😀 (Bine, on the other hand, enjoyed the dessert 😋) PS: Weight gain of 5 to 10 kg is not excluded.
Let's continue with the program: Christ the Redeemer. For all laymen among us: This statue of Christ, which lit up in the colors of Germany, on the evening before the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup ⚽. It would have been a shame to depict Argentina 😂. In between, a cloud passed by, causing the statue to disappear from one second to the next. Crazy to see this amazing city from up there.
After Brazil's most well-known feature, we continued to Brazil's most famous stadium - Maracanã. By the way, it's called: Estádio Mário Filho. Unfortunately, due to the Olympics, it was not possible to visit, but hey, we were where the Olympic Games will be held in 2 months 💪☺.
In between (especially after lunch) there were always little lows and moments of fatigue. After the bus ride to Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer), Marie also felt a bit sick, but we always found our good mood again 😄
The last stops were:
◼ Street where the annual carnival takes place
◼ One of Rio's most important churches: Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião, which was impressive both inside and outside
◼ Escadaria Selaróm - stairs with colorful ceramic tiles from different countries and cities (Frankfurt had its own tile, Rostock immortalized itself with FCH - appropriately in blue 😂)
But now that's enough. The tour was really good, and today it's time to pack our bags and tomorrow we'll fly to Sao Paulo ✈. We'll get in touch as soon as we can 😋
Big kisses from the almost Brazilians
BINE & MARIE 👭
