We continued our journey in a southern direction from our overnight camp, past Riga, towards the Devil's Cave in the Gauja National Park. The travel guide promises that every step is worth it. Yes, it was nice. But the truly beautiful thing about this little hike is the untouched nature.
Afterwards, we drove back towards the sea from the national park and made a stop at the "White Dune - Baltā kāpa" in Saulkrasti. Here, you can walk on the "sunset path" on boardwalks.
Afterwards, we looked for a new place to camp. The plan was to find a campsite. After finding one that was too uncomfortable and another one that was too big (we have become a bit spoiled by Rūgumi in the meantime), we decided to cross the border and find a spot on an RMK for the coming night. These spots are operated by the Estonian Forestry Association, they are free and usually equipped with toilets, fresh water wells, and fire pits with firewood.
So, we drove over a small side road, crossed the border in a blink, and almost didn't notice it. :)
And here we are now, landed on a super nice spot right by the sea, and will definitely stay here tonight to see what tomorrow brings. :)
