Today, we said goodbye to Ubud for now and headed north. Our next destination was the Jatiluwih rice terraces. After a good hour of scooter ride, we reached the UNESCO World Heritage site. Only a few fields were green as it was harvest season. However, we saw many workers in the beautiful landscape during our walks. Our journey then took us directly through the rice terraces towards the north. It should take about 40 more minutes to reach our destination of Bedugul. On the way, we discovered a small sign that said 'Waterfall'. We stopped at the deserted parking lot, went down a few steps, and saw a small but very impressive waterfall. After a short drive, we arrived at the small town of Bedugul right by Lake Danau Beratan. We checked into our accommodation for one night and had a delicious meal in a small garden paradise. Many restaurants in Bali are environmentally conscious when it comes to drinking, as they use bamboo straws. This Warung also follows this practice, although the label surprisingly comes from Solingen.
