2nd Day Hanoi

פֿאַרעפֿנטלעכט: 09.10.2016

We woke up at 9:15 am, so we slept wonderfully for many hours, I felt like an angel :-). I was afraid that I would wake up at night more often due to the time difference, but nothing happened....

After a delicious breakfast, we grabbed our small day backpacks and headed towards the Old Quarter. I'm actually pretty good at reading maps, but somehow the humidity got to my brain and we first walked in the wrong direction for many streets. It's not that bad, but I found it annoying in the heat and traffic :-(. Daniela took it easy, after a while she said; 'could it be that we are walking in the wrong direction'?  :-))))....oops yes...  :-)))) By the way, we wanted to go to the Opera.

After a while and more traffic with constant honking, we finally found the Hanoi Opera House. A great building in a very beautiful district!

As a reward, we had an espresso in a small cute cafe, I really wanted to sit on the small bamboo stools outside on the street. Unfortunately, I didn't like the espresso at all and I was afraid the little stool would collapse under me :-( But everything went well!

From there we went on to the Water Puppet Theater. This type of theater seems to have a long tradition in Vietnam. We watched a show, hm...it was nice, but sometimes a bit cheesy.

Since the weather was exhausting us, we treated ourselves to a drink at a sky bar. That was a very good idea, watching the hustle and bustle of the city from up there was fantastic and we both realized that we are really looking forward to Sapa. Finally peace and quiet, pleasant air, and discovering something new again.

Tomorrow we will be picked up early at 6:30 am by the agency and it is already almost 11:00 pm here, so tonight in German 'Good night' ;-)...we will definitely report from Sapa ;-)
