Hello!
Yesterday we went to Las Hayas to do a 2-hour hike through Garajonay National Park. We started in the village, went through the laurel forest and the overgrown cloud forest, and then returned. The hike was very beautiful as we were able to see many different facets of the island. The greenery and the forest were very fascinating for both of us and completely different from Tenerife. After about 2 hours, 10 km, and nearly 400 meters of elevation gain, we returned to our car and headed home. After some relaxation from the hike, we treated ourselves to dinner at a pizzeria not far from our apartment. The waiters were very friendly and the food was delicious, making it the perfect end to the day!
Today we visited Alto de Garajonay and Roque de Agando. Alto de Garajonay is the highest point on the island of La Gomera. We parked along the road and started a steep hiking trail from there to the viewpoint. The distance wasn't long, but there was a significant elevation gain. After a 30-minute walk, we reached the top and enjoyed a spectacular view. We could see the neighboring islands of La Palma, El Hierro, Tenerife, as well as parts of La Gomera. Later, we went back downhill to drive to Roque de Agando with Jimmy. This is a 1,251-meter high volcanic rock tower. The rock and its surroundings were very impressive. To get back to our apartment, we had to drive on a winding road for about an hour. Once we arrived home, we had a snack and some fruit.
We will end the evening at the beach.
See you soon!
