Yesterday we “moved” to the West. The “Adare Camping & Caravaning” campsite is a small place in the middle of nowhere. The groundskeeper is a bit grumpy, the pitches are quite small, there are extra charges for everything… but well, it's okay as a home base for a few day trips.
First we ordered a taxi this morning to get to the rental car rental in Limerick (20 km away). That was the first little adventure, because it didn't work with the Freenow taxi app. Luckily we were successful over the phone and the pickup went smoothly.
A Polo, right-hand drive of course! I think Ingo has now gotten used to driving on the left, but using the gearshift on the left (especially since we're used to automatics) is a different matter. I'm glad that the rental car is only in his name and I'm not driving it 😅
While we were already in Limerick, we drove straight to the coast, to the Kilkee Cliffs, the little sisters of the Cliff of Moher. Fantastic views, indescribable, look at the photos! Exactly these panoramas are Ireland for me🥰, I can't get enough of them!
The whole thing ended when I urgently had to pee 😇 😂. How nice it would be if you were traveling in a motorhome now! Do you know that feeling when you can't think of anything else 🥹😰? In Kilkee the cafe was closed, but at least the public toilets were open, what a relief 😅😅
We particularly liked the painted stones that many tourists from all over the world placed on the railing.
Back in Adare (a really nice little town, by the way, which we will pay a more intensive visit to in the next few days), we ended up in the pub: There were excellent fish & chips and my very first Guinness - leeeeccckkker.
