The West Coast - Hot Pools

Once we arrived on the West Coast, we decided to make it our first major stop. We wanted to hike to a hut and spend the night there, so that we could hike back with renewed strength the next morning.

When we woke up in the morning and wanted to start the hike, it was pouring rain. Nevertheless, we decided to start the hike.

After exactly 5 minutes, our feet were soaking wet because we had to constantly cross rivers. No, we hiked through a river the whole time!

We completed the 18 km long trail in 4.5 hours due to the weather conditions, and our only motivation were the hot pools at the hut.

Once we reached the top, we checked out the hut. We were extremely lucky because we had the 31-bed hut all to ourselves (nobody was crazy enough to go hiking in this weather). We lit the fireplace and hung up our things to dry. Then we went to the hot pools.

The water in the hot pools was the same temperature as the water in a bathtub. A dream!

The place was simply magical. The red and yellow colors of the hot pools, with a view of the mountains and the huge waterfalls. The whole landscape was dressed in white clouds due to the rain.
