Arrival in Fjordland

We leave the campground towards Te Anau, the only city in Fjordland. We decide to hike part of the Kepler Track, which is one of the 'Great Walks'. We choose the first stage to Luxmore Hut (22 Km return). The first 2.5 hours lead us uphill through a typical New Zealand rainforest. We can even see 2 Keas, a very intelligent species of parrot that is found only in the New Zealand Fjordland. After overcoming the challenging part and climbing 800 meters in altitude, we reach the tree line. We have excellent weather and a beautiful view over Fjordland.

Once we reach the bottom, Claudi cooks our dinner and I refresh myself in the cold lake.
