Bergen

Được phát hành: 12.07.2022

We will arrive in Bergen on the afternoon of 3.7.22 and, surprisingly, there will even be a bit of sunshine! We park our car in the few parking spaces accessible to everyone at the university. From here, you can reach the city center in just a few minutes.

The most famous district, 'Bryggen,' with its beautiful colorful houses and cafes right on the harbor, is enchanting, although very touristy. The Norwegian cinnamon rolls taste completely different from the Swedish ones, but still delicious :) We let ourselves wander through the city and stop briefly at Bergenhus Fortress, where queues have already formed for a concert by Jeff Beck (with a very special guest, Johnny Depp). We have no idea who that is and think it's a joke, but later on music streaming, we realize that the two of them have actually recorded an entire album together. The weather continues to be like April: rain, sun, and wind alternate, open umbrella, closed umbrella, put on hat, take off hat, put on jacket, take off jacket. However, the numerous concert-goers don't mind at all. For dinner, we treat ourselves to delicious mussels and a seafood salad at the fish market hall. Bergen has a fantastic fresh and sustainable cuisine and relatively affordable (for Norwegian standards) food.

The next morning, we park in the parking garage (20€/day) and spend the day shopping in the city. For our further adventures, we need a rain jacket, hiking pants, gloves, and whatever else we come across... Besides, the rainy day doesn't bother us much in the stores. When the sun finally comes out, we climb a few stairs to a church slightly above the city and have a great view from there. On the way, we enjoy an elk burger and in the evening, we end up again at a fish restaurant for Bergen fish soup and fish & chips.

It must be said that Bergen can also be easily visited in one day, but because the museums are always closed on Mondays, we stay until 5.7.22 and go to the KODE Museum after a short breakfast shopping trip. This well-known art museum in Norway consists of four different museums. Unfortunately, KODE 1 was closed at this time. After seeing the other three, we liked KODE 4 the best with its current exhibition on queer art because it encourages the viewer to think.

We spend the rest of the day driving to Flåm, where we meet up with Nina and Mauri again and spend a nice evening cooking together at the campsite.
