Weihnachtszeit auf der Ranch 🎄/ Christmas time at the Ranch 🎄

Bald ist es wieder soweit! Weihnachten steht vor der Tür! 🙃🎄

Hier gibt es einige Updates darüber, was wir hier so machen zur Weihnachtszeit. Letztes Jahr wurden wir ja schon früher nach Hause geschickt, weil so viele krank waren. Doch dieses Jahr gab bisher schon einige coole Ereignisse. 😃

Fangen wir an! Das erste, was ich super toll fand waren die vielen Dekorationen auf dem Ranch-Gelände. Letztes Jahr wurden diese nicht aufgehängt. Es wirkt jetzt wirklich weihnachtlich. 🎄

Wir hatten vor ein paar Tagen noch Schnee hier liegen. Allerdings ist alles weggeschmolzen. 😅 Im Moment sind hier Temperaturen bis zu 14 Grad. Das Wetter kann sich halt nicht entscheiden. 😂

Seht ihr das Bild mit den Fohlen? Könnt ihr euch noch an meinen Blog vor ein paar Monaten erinnern? Das sind die Fohlen, die im Frühjahr geboren wurden. Sie werden so schnell groß. 😅 Sie sind so süß! 🥰

Was gibt es Neues in meinem Medienbereich? Wir (Kyle & ich) haben in Medien jetzt drei Erstjahres-Studenten dazubekommen, mit denen wir zusammenarbeiten. Unsere Aufgabe ist es nun, das, was wir letztes Jahr gelernt haben, an die neuen Studenten weiterzugeben. Im Moment behandeln wir das Thema Fotografie. 😊 Die Studenten lernen den richtigen Umgang mit einer Kamera und wie die Bilder am Ende bearbeitet werden. Habt ihr schonmal von Führungslinien in einem Bild gehört? Das ist nur eines der Themen, die wir behandeln, aber auch die richtige Positionierung des Objekts im Bild. 🙃 So sind wir letzte Woche öfter rausgegangen und haben zusammen Fotos gemacht.

Eine Studentin hat für alle Kekse gebacken und vor die Studentenzimmer gelegt. Was für eine süße Idee! 🥰

Vorletzten Freitag hatten wir Weihnachtssingen in der Stadt. Eine Gruppe von Studenten ist nach Corry gefahren und hat in der Stadt für die Menschen gesungen. Die meisten Läden waren offen und es gab ein paar kleine Angebote, wie eine Kutschenfahrt oder eine Traktorfahrt. 😉

Letzten Samstag hatte die Ranch eine Weihnachtsfeier, zu der alle eingeladen waren. Es wurde gesungen, es gab eine Andacht und danach gute Gemeinschaft. Dann hatten wir Mädels unsere eigene kleine Weihnachtsfeier in einem der Studentenzimmer. Es waren Spiele, Musik, Essen, Fotos und Musik geplant ☺️ Dabei entstand das Bild mit meinen Freundinnen Madi und Danae. Ich kenne sie jetzt schon über ein Jahr. 😃

Letzten Donnerstag war ich mit zwei Erstjahrestudenten bei einer Mitarbeiterfamilie zuhause und wir haben ihren Weihnachtsbaum geschmückt. Das kann ich ja sonst gar nicht mehr machen. Hatte letzte Zeit schon keine Möglichkeit dazu. 😂 Ich habe auch zum ersten Mal ein Lebkuchenhaus dekoriert. Da muss ich auf jeden Fall noch ein wenig üben. Naja, war mein erster Versuch. 😉

Die Ranch hat auch einen Weihnachtsbaum. Er steht im Essenssaal, wo auch die Kaminecke ist. Sieht gemütlich aus! 🔥 Heute hatten wir wieder eine Weihnachtsfeier mit allen Studenten und den Mitarbeiterfamilien. Es gab eine gemeinsame Mahlzeit und danach einen Geschenketausch. Es war so ähnlich wie Wichteln. 🎁

Kommenden Dienstag ist wieder Bewertungstag. Ich bin fast fertig mit meinen monatlichen Projekten. 👍🏻

Kaum zu glauben, dass nächste Woche Samstag schon wieder die Weihnachtspause beginnt, wo alle Studenten nach Hause fahren. Ich werde mit einer Studentin mitgehen und einen neuen Bundesstaat erkunden! 😍 Darauf freue ich mich auch schon. Aber dazu später mehr. 🙃 Kannst mir ja mal deine Schätzungen schicken. 😆

Packen steht dann wohl auch schon wieder auf meiner To-do-Liste diese Woche. 😅

Es gibt dann wieder ein neues Update aus und von meinem Urlaub. ☺️

Soon it will be that time again! Christmas is just around the corner! 🙃🎄

Here are some updates on what we are up to here for the Christmas season. Last year, yes, we were sent home early because so many were sick. But this year there have been some cool events so far. 😃

Let's get started! The first thing I thought was super awesome were all the decorations on the Ranch grounds. Last year these were not hung up. It really looks Christmasy now. 🎄

We had snow here a few days ago. However, it has all melted away. 😅 At the moment here are temperatures up to 57 degrees. The weather just can't make up its mind. 😂

Do you see the picture with the foals? Can you still remember my blog a few months ago? Those are the foals that were born in the spring. They are growing up so fast. 😅 They are so cute! 🥰

What's new in my media area? We (Kyle & I) in media have now added three first year students to work with. Our job now is to pass on what we learned last year to the new students. Right now we are working on the topic of photography. 😊 The students learn how to use a camera properly and how to edit the pictures in the end. Ever heard of leading lines in a picture? That's just one of the topics we cover, but also the proper positioning of the subject in the picture. 🙃 So last week we went out more often and took pictures together.

A student baked cookies for everyone and put them in front of the students' rooms. What a cute idea! 🥰

Friday before last we had Christmas caroling in town. A group of students went to Corry and sang to people in town. Most of the stores were open and there were a few small offerings, like a carriage ride or a tractor ride. 😉

Last Saturday the Ranch had a Christmas party where everyone was invited. There was singing, a devotional and good fellowship afterwards. There was also a lifestream to watch on Facebook. 😄 You can check out the lifestream here if you are interested. Facebook link: https://fb.watch/9RaiftD5Fb/

Then us girls had their very own little Christmas party in one of the dorm rooms. Games, music, food, photo's and music were planned ☺️ While there, this picture was taken with my friends Madi and Danae. I have known them for over a year now. 😃

Last Thursday, I was at an advisor family's house with two first-year students and that's when we decorated their Christmas tree. I don't really get to do that anymore. Didn't have the chance to do it last time. I also decorated a gingerbread house for the first time. Since I have to practice a little in any case. Well, it was my first try. 😉

The Ranch also has a Christmas tree. It's in the dining room, where the oven corner is. Looks cozy! 🔥 Today we had another Christmas party with all the students and staff families. There was a meal together and then there was a gift exchange. It was kind of like "White Elephant". 🎁

Next Tuesday is Grading Day again. I am almost done with my monthly projects. 👍🏻

Hard to believe next week Saturday is already the start of Christmas break again where all the students go home. I will be going with a student to explore a new state! 😍 I'm looking forward to that too. But more on that later. 🙃 You can send me your estimates sometime. 😆

Packing is then probably again on my to-do list this week. 😅
