So viel Western Australia, so wenig Zeit!

Because our adventure in Australia is limited to one year, we take on a hybrid role here between tourist and expat. On the one hand, we live here and manage everyday life between math tests, rent, and taking out the trash. On the other hand, the energy level is quite high when it comes to 'exploring your neighborhood'. Every corner of the city wants to be explored, not to mention the many national parks in the area! Western Australia is huge and one year is shorter than you think! Luckily, the laid-back vibes of Western Australia have already caught us and we take exploring quite leisurely.

At first, we were sufficiently occupied with the one and a half kilometers between the house, school, grocery store, and beach. Now we are expanding our radius and hopping on our bikes to reach the next suburb or taking a 45-minute drive to hike a national park or visit an island. And in a few weeks, we will actually leave the boundaries of Perth behind and explore the north of the country... Of course, not Northern Australia, but the north of Western Australia! Always taking it easy!

The Bush - can also be found in the city! And in Australia, 'bushies' don't mean followers of George Bush, but people who live in the outback or bush.

Fremantle, also called Freo, is an artist suburb with many cafes on the so-called Cappuccino Strip (there is a large Italian community here), old buildings, and museums.
