And again, we manage to hit the road at exactly 10:00. Today, our route leads to Mount Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe, standing at 3,357 meters. The southern Italian region is considered the most dangerous volcanic area in the world, but here, there is no sign of it. Our Garmin GPS is still having trouble with the Sicilian road network, which adds an extra 60 kilometers to our tour today. So, we only dismount after 260 kilometers in the evening. In Zafferana, our new host Patricia welcomes us. She takes us to our new "Etna Green House" accommodation. Patricia grew up bilingual and greets us in perfect German. She takes her time to show us all the details of the tastefully furnished Green House. We immediately feel at home. Folks, if you ever plan to stay near Mount Etna, you must not miss the "ETNA GREEN HOUSE" - and especially not Patricia - she is a wonderful host and provides you with tips that you won't even find in Marco Polo.

At night, powerful thunderstorms and heavy rain pass over us. In between, all surfaces are coated with Sahara sand.
