Ísafjörður (in English, Ice Fjord) is a town and fjord in the northwest of Iceland with roughly 3,000 inhabitants. We were welcomed in typical Icelandic fashion: cold, rainy, and windy. We wanted to explore the area a bit, but weren't sure about the weather. However, a friendly local in front of the ship assured us that we could stay dry on her bus and enjoy a lovely tour. So, reluctantly, we agreed.
After we quickly drove through a tunnel to the other side of the island, the sun came out. The tour was not only accompanied by nice weather, but it was also very scenic, and the guide could tell us a lot about the region. We thought we had already seen enough waterfalls, but the one on the tour turned out to be the most beautiful and impressive one so far (Dynjandi waterfall).
After the tour, we wandered through the town and admired the pretty houses.
