Pinnacles / Jurien Bay

Được phát hành: 22.12.2017

We have now driven about 200 km north of Perth. The driving is quite relaxed - the speed limit of 110 km/h invites cruising. We keep discovering new trees and shrubs. Then suddenly, mountains of white sand appear, making it look like it's snowing here. There are warning signs for kangaroos and emus crossing the road, but apart from a few unsuccessful attempts, we haven't seen any yet. The Pinnacles, a part of Narbung National Park, are peculiar standing stones in the landscape. They stand on yellow sand in a desert. The national park also includes Lake Thetis, where you can admire the formation of the Earth through stromatolites and thrombolites. These are rock formations created by bacteria that are still growing. Within a few square kilometers, you encounter various landscapes. Of course, swimming and relaxing on the beach are not neglected among all the other activities. Today, I even had to blow into a breathalyzer on the way back from the beach. Not only drivers suspected of drunk driving are tested here, but everyone is tested in turn. In the afternoon, we visited a crayfish farm. It was very informative and the food was delicious too. Tomorrow, on Christmas, we will spend the day south of Perth. Since we don't know how reliable the internet availability will be, we wish you all a merry Christmas and a few relaxing holidays.
