Senigallia and Truffle Fair in Pergola

Được phát hành: 21.10.2018

Yesterday afternoon we went to the sea in Senigallia, which is about 40 km away (but with many curves...so not like going from Vluyn to Essen at home in 35 minutes...). The evening sun at the sea was wonderful.

We could see a number of small houses right by the sea, which had a quite complex lifting mechanism. It looked like fishing was done there with the stretched nets and then everything was transported upwards using the lifting device. But that must be quite a weight...

On our way to our ice cream parlor, we noticed the many people who were here today. No comparison to our arrival day last Friday, when we were already in Senigallia in the afternoon. There were only a handful of people and of course all shops were closed. Now the place was bustling, and it was almost impossible to pass through the shopping street.

Of course, we enjoyed some ICE CREAM again, it's simply too delicious here! But even here there was only one table available...

But now the experiences of today:

First of all, we had a quite impressive guest sitting at our front door, greetings from the nearby nature park...

The grasshopper had an impressive, about 5 cm long spine (please have a closer look, it continues on the other side of the curtain!)...and was bravely escorted back into nature by Gerhard, and we could safely leave the house.

As planned, we went to Pergola today for the Truffle Fair. I always wanted to see a pile of truffles in the wild :-)

Arriving in Pergola, we actually had to park in front of the town, which already indicated a considerable crowd.

We reached the centro storico through a nice little park. The old town was quite busy.

While searching for truffles, we strolled past lots of stands with delicious things, like colorful cauliflower or hand-cut ham.

In a large tent there were many small stands with truffles to see, buy, and specialties with truffle to try. Of course, we bought a few truffles which are now carefully packed in a tissue in the fridge, spreading a wonderful scent and waiting for further use. We also bought salami and tasty biscotti di mosto (for breakfast).

On the way back, we tried super delicious olive ascolane (a regional specialty), big olives filled with meat and with a crispy coating.

Later we had fritto di pesce, french fries, tiramisu...so delicious again :-)

Back home for a little lunch break, the sky was already getting dark.

At 5 pm we had a nice event ahead of us. In Arcevia there was a concert for three keyboard instruments, which of course interested us.

It was pouring rain in Arcevia, and we got quite wet. We were treated to an unexpected performance, half performance art, half concert, partly crazy modern, partly classical. Three young musicians played piano, marimba, and accordion. It was extremely diverse, Gerhard almost had a laughing fit at times...when it gets too modern, 'some shit comes to his mind' (verbatim...this time: 'if he played everything one tone lower, at least we could sing along'). But at least he didn't walk out, but listened until the end at my side :-)

Afterwards, back home, turning on the oven and watching snooker.
