Sydney 🇦🇺

Được phát hành: 31.01.2024

From the natural New Zealand to the big city of Sydney. But not only that was a big change, but also the temperature difference. Boarded the plane in Christchurch at a pleasant 15 degrees and got off in Sydney at a very hot 34 degrees. That was actually quite a nice contrast, but one that I was also looking forward to. Experiencing and seeing something new again is always exciting for me. After I checked into the hostel for the first time, I took my first walk through the city. Because I didn't arrive until 8 in the evening, it was already dark, but the skyline at night as a first impression of the city is also beautiful. The next day started really hot, as it got up to 39 degrees. What I didn't know is that the national holiday is on January 26th. So this time I walked into the city in daylight to do a bit of sightseeing. First to St.Marys Cathedral, through the botanical gardens to the Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Due to the national holiday, everything around the port was full of people waiting for the parade of ships in the port. So I did that even when I was there. It was actually really cool. After that it got warmer and warmer, so I continued my sightseeing from one shop to the other because it was just too hot outside. In the evening we went back to the harbor to watch the Australia Day fireworks. That was really spectacular with the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge in the background. The next day I had the Manly district on my agenda. First get there by ferry through the harbor. I started the day with surfing. Surfing in warm water can definitely do something too. However, there were quite a few other surfers there, so you had to be very careful at times. Afterwards I had breakfast by the sea before I walked through Manly. It was market day when I was there, which I think made the atmosphere even nicer. But even so, I really liked Manly with all the nice little cafes and shops. The beach is quite full of people but still not that crowded. In the afternoon I walked along the coast back towards the city center, where I found a few deserted beaches and breathtaking views over Sydney. On my last real day in Sydney I headed to Bondi. Unfortunately, I immediately realized that I didn't understand the hype about it. The beach is crowded with people and the water is crowded with surfers. Well, I didn't even try to surf. So we had a beach morning in Bondi. In the afternoon I took a look at the area here too, but it didn't really convince me until the end. Afterwards I walked along the coast again from beach to beach. Finally, I went into the sea again at Coogee Beach. In the evening it was time to pack my backpack again for the next day. Because my flight didn't leave until the evening, I really enjoyed that day in Sydney's city center. I strolled through the city a bit, looked at the Opera House again with fewer people and just watched the hustle and bustle of the city from a shady spot in the park by the harbor. In general I have to say I really liked Sydney and it was just right for 4 days. But I'm still happy to be able to get out of the big city again! ☀️
