Distance: Calp- Almeria : 355km
Almeria- Almunecar- Malaga: 225 km
it has been some days that I haven' t posted anything just simply because the way from Calp to Almeria on Monday wasn' t really exciting. I just had to advance and do some km which I mainly did on the highway. The only difference as soon as I arrived at the southern coast close to Almeria was that I could feel the temperature difference. So for the first time I was a bit struggling with the heat. I stayed in Almeria two years ago and did not like ... try to give it a second chance but still don' t like it. My day or evening was quiet normal.. parked my bike , got to the beach, played some volleyball, and went back to my hotel to eat food from the supermarket as I didn' t feel that motivated to go out and have dinner somewhere in a restaurant.
The following day was the day I had been waiting for a while because it was time to leave for Malaga, a city I' ve wanted to see since a long time, and I was not disappointed at all.. actually I really fell in love with this city. Now after Barcelona my second favourite here. I made a quick stop at the beach at Almunecar and had a tiny little 'accident' , because I was too stupid to properly park my bike on the side of the road that at a certain point and angle I just had to let it fall to the side and once again of course- otherwise it wouldn' t be me- i killed the blinking light . of course no chance to put it back in vertical position on my own but there was a nice spanish man after a few seconds helping me to put it up again.
So I arrived in Malaga in the early evening, and normal procedure as nearly every day. getting my stuff into my room ( staying in an Air bnb apartment which is really nice), getting a shower and ready for sightseeing.. 1.5 days break for me and the bike. I went out for dinner and had like a small city tour and this city is simply amazing.
Today I went to the Picasso museum, the ancient Arabic castle Alcazaba, the market and some general sightseeing in the city and after all those kilometers on bike it was a nice alternative.
it is super late already, after 2 am in the morning and i have to leave at 8.30 am to get the ferry from Algeciras to Tanger so my next post will be sent from the other continent ;) all for now... good night to all of you
Hello my dear ones.
I have been a bit lazy with writing in the last few days... Not really lazy but either there wasn't much to report or I was simply too busy.
My further tour from Calp started on Monday towards Almeria. I already know the city from 2 years ago but I still don't like it. The route was a bit exhausting as there was too much wind but at the same time it also became super hot. The temperatures down here are quite different from the Costa Blanca.
On Tuesday, finally, I went to Malaga, a day I had been waiting for a long time, because Malaga has been on my to-do list for a while and I am very glad to have done it, because the city is simply beautiful. I visited the cathedral today; furthermore, also the market, the former Arabic fortress Alcazaba, and the Picasso Museum (although I am not a big fan of Picasso; but the museum is worth it.
It felt really good to take a little break after so much motorcycling, it's already more than 2400 km so far, and some sightseeing was a nice change.
It's almost 2.30 am in the morning now and I should actually pack and sleep especially, because tomorrow noon my ship will depart from Algeciras to Tangier. I will spend a few days in Morocco (mainly in the north and visit my friend in Rabat). Not much planned yet, but that always happens relatively spontaneously )
I wish you all a good night and I will get back to you from Morocco. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well. See you soon!
