We missed the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal by one week. In the whole city, there are still checkered flags and Ferrari caps hanging around, and merchandise from all teams is being sold on every corner.
So let's go to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, but not in a race car, but on a Bixi bike. You can borrow bikes here at secure bike racks and return them at any other station in the city.
We couldn't beat the best time on the bike track that used to be a race track with our 3-gear bikes, but the tranquility on the island located in the St. Lawrence River was worth it.
After the return trip over bridges and around the old port of the city, we definitely deserved a lunch.
At the BIERMARKT we were allowed to enjoy our pizza/burger/fries on the upper floor just for ourselves (no beer under 18 in Canada), but we had the live World Cup on all the screens.
The guys have marked this place for their next trip to Canada - there will definitely be an amazing atmosphere here during the hockey season.
The Biosphere, a gift from the Americans from the 1967 World Expo, now houses a museum of water and the environment. We tested the stability of the individual exhibit objects, but we didn't calculate the load-bearing forces for the framework of the sphere.
