7. Revelstoke National Park

The city of Revelstoke is not very big, but it is quite relaxed and there is also plenty to do with the mountain right next door. Here I stayed in a hostel in the hope of meeting some people, but the hostel was relatively empty, or people were simply never in the common room. So I decided to go out on my own to go on a hike to 2 mountain lakes. This was also the first park where you have to pay an entrance fee.

The road up to the parking lot on the mountain was lined with blooming flowers on both sides, quite beautiful to look at during the drive.

At the top, the first small trail was closed because there was a grizzly bear in the area. My trail up was open, so I started hiking. After a little over an hour of hiking through a beautiful area of forest and meadows, I arrived at Eva Lake.

After a small lunch - a banana, apple, and granola bar - I went around the lake. As soon as you're a few meters away, you're alone again. After that, I walked another 25 minutes to the second lake - Miller Lake. This lake is also very beautiful, and even fewer people are there.

On the descent, I met two Dutch people, with whom I went out for a beer in the evening and also listened to the local live music.

Since we had the same direction ahead of us, we decided to hike together in Glacier National Park the next day.
