I am already at the bus station before 7:00 am. The bus towards Masaya only has three passengers including me. So, it will probably take a while until we depart. Regardless of the schedule, I have never seen a driver start with an almost empty bus. Okay, then I will enjoy the early morning sounds and smells for a while. It is still quiet, with hardly any traffic. A rooster crows, the sellers of food and drinks set up their stands, and occasionally you can hear the call 'Masaya, Masaya, Masaya!' as if they are trying to lure people to go there. A noise like someone sliding back and forth on their plastic seat. No, the young man is not actually moving, it's probably just the wind. Outside, someone burps loudly and unabashedly, a cellphone plays tinny folk music. Hopefully, we will depart soon.
In Masaya, I will transfer to another bus and then again in Tipitapa. Everything goes smoothly, and the conductor will let me know when to get off. By taking this route, I have avoided going through Managua, which would have involved traffic jams and a taxi ride across the city. It will take me a total of five hours to travel 150 kilometers to Matagalpa, for less than €3.00.
Matagalpa is not really a beautiful city. My plan was to book a tour on site, a coffee plantation with a little hike or something. But the largest provider is fully booked, and there are only one or two smaller ones left. Ultimately, I can only order a trimmed-down version for tomorrow.
My tablet has once again eaten up my photos when I tried to upload them. Now, there are no more photos on my SD card. Or at least they are not being recognized. I had already backed up most of them, but not the ones from today. This always happens when there are delays while saving to GoogleDrive. Does anyone have any advice?
That's why there is no current photo now, but at least one from this area.
Temperature 27 degrees Celsius, slightly cloudy with a gentle breeze, humidity 86%.
