After a restful night, the dreaded Nevis Bungy jump was supposed to take place on this day, where you jump 130 meters into a gorge from a gondola. Everyone, including myself, was quite nervous when we arrived at the AJ Hackett Bungy office in Queenstown. From there, buses were supposed to take us to the bungee jump. Unfortunately, it didn't happen because the bungee jump had to be cancelled due to strong winds. After thinking for a long time about how to spend our free day in Queenstown, we decided to hike up the mountain where the Luge is located and then go downhill a few times on the go-karts. And so we did. The hike was unexpectedly tiring at times, and I was quite relieved when we arrived at the top after about an hour. We had a snack there and then decided to buy tickets for go-karting. After the first go-kart ride, which was more like a test ride, we took a break and went to the 'Ledge Bungy' nearby. There you jump about 40 meters into the abyss. The special thing about this bungee jump is that you are secured differently and therefore you can jump down however you want. Our tour guide, for example, did a backflip! After watching the other daredevils (and seriously considering if I should also do this bungee jump), we decided to use our remaining 2 Luge rides. Then we took the gondola back down and before heading back to the hotel, we took a walk through the beautiful city. The evening program this time consisted of Maori games that we all played together. Before that, I couldn't quite understand why these "aggressive" Maori dances and games are so popular, but I have to say that I really enjoyed them as well. The night was very short, as always, and the next day we set off early again.
