This small town on Lake Bourget speaks for itself. Long promenades wind along the lakeshore, inviting runners, cyclists, and walkers to stop and enjoy the view. I went running here and really enjoyed it. Despite the windy 5°C, it was a bit cold, but the view more than made up for it. Since we were staying at a campground in Aix-les-Bains, I was lucky to have a lukewarm shower afterwards. The next day, I rode my bike into town to go shopping. Unfortunately, I then discovered that the stores are closed on Sundays in France :D Nevertheless, I explored the city and even managed to grab two baguettes from a bakery.
Because it was very cold overall, we decided to continue south on 12.03. This time, we took the highway despite tolls, and it was worth it! The entire journey had stunning views with smooth and straight roads. At noon, we stopped at a small parking area by a river to cook noodles and have tea. I have never seen such a beautiful rest area!
After another two hours of driving, we arrived at Lac de Ste-Croix. We stood by the lakeshore with Pumpkin and enjoyed the sunset. We ended the evening with pumpkin soup and a movie.
