64. Stage 'Astrakhan, Russia'

It seemed advisable to be at the border somewhat early, which is why I set off at 9:00 AM. It was only 30 km to the border. Before the border, trucks were backed up for at least 4 km. The same scene was observed later on the other side. The customs clearance on both sides was quick and smooth, allowing me to arrive in Astrakhan by around 12 PM. The hotel is well-equipped and centrally located. In the afternoon, I took my first small exploration tour of the city and visited the Kremlin. The church within the area was particularly impressive. After dinner, I took a walk along the banks of the Volga. There is a very nice promenade that was quite lively and entertaining with live music.
