About plans, no work, and broken phones

Được phát hành: 23.06.2018

The last two weeks flew by again. I worked from Monday to Thursday, this time at a different location but still for the same employer. On Friday, it was announced that there would be no work anymore and I would receive further information from the agency. When I hadn't received anything by Sunday, I went to the agency on Monday morning to inquire. I was then told that I could continue working on Wednesday. When I arrived at work on Wednesday, they were surprised and told me that there was no work for me. Back in the car, I received a call from the agency saying that the work was canceled for the rest of the week. However, I will still get paid for four hours as I showed up for work (work agreement: I get paid for the hours I work or four hours, whichever is more).

So I had a whole week off. I used that time to plan my remaining three weeks in New Zealand and the time after. It's about time, as I still need to apply for my visa for America and book my accommodation. I also need a parking space for the car so that my dad can take care of it in November. I still need to take care of my kite equipment, which will probably not be easy as I can't easily ship sports equipment to Germany. It will probably come down to selling it, but that will be difficult due to time pressure and the fact that the kite is not tight.

Today (Friday 22.06) I found out that I have work again next week. This time, however, I have to get up even earlier, but that shouldn't be a problem. Additionally, getting up early is also good training for Los Angeles, as otherwise I would get up too late because of the time difference.

This morning, after getting up, I wanted to charge my phone. After a short time, I noticed that it didn't respond anymore. My suspicion was that the battery had given up. However, since I depend on the phone, I quickly inquired about a replacement. At some point, I got bored and left the library to take my phone apart (yes, I was a little bored). That should not have been a problem as the back cover had been cracked for some time. When I arrived at the car, I wanted to give the phone one last try and tried to start it, and ta-da, it turned on. I definitely got lucky there, now I hope it will last the last six weeks until I get home.

This week, I finally got my hair cut again.
