Jaipur 11.09.

Được phát hành: 12.09.2019

Had breakfast in a nice café with someone from the hostel. They even had coffee with almond milk/soy milk & vegan waffles.

After breakfast, we went into town. Checked off a few sightseeing activities. Wanted to go to the City Palace. €25?!? No... we were shocked when we heard that. Apparently, the Maharaja of Jaipur lives there and that justifies the price. Instead, we looked at a few objects that display the time. (It was still included in our ticket from yesterday, bargain hunters)

Afterwards, we wanted to go to the cinema because the tuk-tuk drivers didn't want to take us for the desired price. So we decided to go with a rickshaw driver (bicycle). Unfortunately, the driver was so old and there was so much traffic that we probably wouldn't have arrived until tomorrow. We gave him a little tip for 20 meters and walked a bit.

We passed by a parade on the way.

Then we arrived at the cinema, waiting for the movie to start. Looked at from all sides. Until the first person dared to ask for a photo. My cheeks hurt from smiling. But we had the sweetest photo situation with such adorable children.

The cinema in Jaipur is supposed to be one of the most impressive in India. We don't understand a word, the movie is in Hindi, 2 1/2 hours. But still, you understand the plot thanks to dramatic music, gestures, and facial expressions. We laughed and at the end had a little wet eyes because it was so touching. It was a great experience. Indians don't turn off their phones in the cinema, they ring constantly. Families bring their screaming babies along.

We passed by the Wind Palace (Hawa Mahal) again, which is so pretty. There is a café across from it where you can take great photos. The café makes most of its revenue from photo fees.

Afterwards, we planned to go shopping for silver jewelry, but the stores we visited didn't really meet our taste. We gave up on this plan and went to a mall. The salespeople were closely following us in the stores. We put together "great" outfits. Very entertaining.

After dinner, we quickly booked accommodation and a bus. Tomorrow morning we're going to Pushkar (150 km, just under €2, hopefully with air conditioning).

Our dinner tonight. Indian food is really delicious and eating with your hands is also great.
