Day 40: Allianz in Frankfurt and back to the Rhine

My 'helmswoman' is leaving. She still has an 'invoice' outstanding with the pilgrimage from Görlitz to Leipzig. When if not now... She cycles to the train station fifteen minutes before 7 o'clock. Then I have breakfast and pack my bike comfortably. Both of our bikes were in the room, which the lady at the reception said was safer than in the underground garage. And they didn't even bother, the panoramic room was big enough. Taking the bike in the elevator to the 7th floor, that's something. The Maritim was the only Allianz contract hotel that refused me the Allianz conditions, which only applies to business trips. Then I'll take the discount at booking. And what I still have to criticize about Maritim, even though they're not to blame: I didn't see any stewardesses.
Then I cycle to Theodor-Stern-Kai. My colleagues from the works council see me coming and greet me warmly. They have set up a beautiful stand in front of the Barista Bar. With so much creativity, I could almost cry again. Another works council colleague joins us. And the kitchen has prepared a second breakfast for me - thank you very much!
The works council had taken precautions: Knowing that it was Monday plus vacation, they had already started collecting in advance. In the end, it will be €940.41 cash donations! Some donations have also been made via PayPal, and when the site manager comes to see me, he spontaneously agrees to round up the amount to the nearest €100. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to him and all other donors for their support!
Then two colleagues from ABV come by, with whom I successfully carried out their supervisory board election. They are particularly close to my heart.
And there is still an improvement: I receive a gift basket with Frankfurt specialties: Bethmännchen, Ebbelwoiguutsjer, Griene Sooss noodles, Haddekuchen, and the Honorary Needle of Frankfurter Versicherungs-AG! It was integrated together with BVB during the founding of Allianz Deutschland, and I was in the Economic Committee of Allianz Versicherungs-AG and saw everything firsthand. Because I can't transport all of this, I have it sent home - what a service. By the way, during my visit here, I did almost everything I had otherwise scorned: Griene Sooss and Handkäs with music. I just didn't dare to try the Bembel because of its overwhelming success...
We still go out to eat together, then I get an iced coffee from the Barista Bar (delicious!). Strengthened like this, I reluctantly say goodbye and set off, I still want to make it to the Rhine, heat or not. I turn off the Main River near Rüsselsheim, wander through a few fields, find the way again, and take the ferry across the Rhine at Oppenheim. I find accommodation in Nierstein, it probably won't be long enough for a walk, too bad. But a glass of wine is still in order.
