After a long journey with some problems, I finally made it to Tanya and Robert's ranch on Monday. After that, I had a cozy afternoon, Tanya showed me everything and I watched her giving riding lessons.
On Tuesday morning, we continued by first letting the mares and their young foals out to the pasture and cleaning the stables. Then I had a riding lesson until noon, and after lunch, another one. In the evening, Tanya gave riding lessons before we brought the two mares back to the stable and called it a day.
Wednesday started again with the morning routine, letting the mares out to the pasture and cleaning the stables. After that, I also fed the customer horses that Tanya has in training, as they are not with the herd on the large pasture. Before noon, there was another small riding lesson, and in the afternoon, I watched Tanya supporting a show horse rider during a lesson. In the evening, while Robert was cooking dinner, we had a little emergency. I drove with Tanya and a mare with her 4-day-old foal to the vet. The foal has an inflammation at the navel that goes back to the bladder and causes it to urinate the milk it has drunk in a short time. It is now being treated with antibiotics, hoping that the inflammation will go away. If the foal doesn't get better tomorrow, it will probably need surgery to survive.
