The sea around Shark Bay is simply beautiful and not so cold. Unfortunately, there are many sharks and it is advised not to go swimming or to be cautious.
Since Padi really wanted to go off-roading again, we went to François Perón National Park. Only 4WD vehicles are allowed in this park, no 2WD or all-wheel drive vehicles. There is specific information on which vehicle belongs to which category. The roads are completely made of sand, so we had to reduce the tire pressure to 1.4 bar. The drive through the park was a real adventure and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we got stuck 4km before reaching the tip. We reduced the tire pressure to 0.8 bar and then dug ourselves out. Thanks to low range and Padi's sense, we managed to reverse out successfully. After two attempts, we decided to give up. Unfortunately, we are too heavily loaded and Maxi's 70 horsepower isn't enough power. We had planks to put under the wheels as a last resort, but we didn't want to torture ourselves and Maxi.
We stayed overnight at one of the campsites in the park, right by the Big Lagoon.
We were awakened at 4:38 am by the first rain in 6 months. We quickly packed up camp and drove back, soaking wet, at daybreak, out of the park.
