Day 7 * Rain in the Basque Country

Morning: Sotres, Picos de Europa * Evening: Vitoria-Gasteiz

The rain drives us out of Sotres and the Picos de Europa. After shopping in Las Arenas (Asturias), we drive back to the coastal highway towards Santander.

We take a lunch break and a beach walk in the rain at the surfer beach Oriñón (Cantabria).

Then we continue through the beautiful green Basque Country. Passing by the 'Parque Natural de Gorbeia', we make a stop in Legutio at a lake. Here we find a very nice pitch in a pine forest. But the weather is too uncomfortable for us, so we hit the road again.

Our destination for the night is the capital of the Basque Country: Vitoria-Gasteiz. We want to have dinner and explore the city there. We park the camper at a large parking area outside the city center. The rain is getting heavier and it's getting colder. Visiting the city is out of the question. So we make ourselves comfortable, cook, eat, and go to bed early in our warm bed.
