Yesterday on our wine tour, we saw some of the Margaret River Region, although most of it was through the bus window. Today, we got a firsthand experience of the beauty of this region.
No wonder this region attracts so many tourists. Not only does it have stunning nature, but also just about everything to make tourists happy. In addition to the 135 established wineries, there are also numerous breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and accommodations to suit every taste.
We spent the early morning around the Margaret River Mouth. This is where annual surfing world cups take place. But the beach also looks great and has the necessary infrastructure such as toilets and showers.
We had breakfast in the picturesque bay of Gracetown. The water looks very inviting, but it's still too cold for swimming.
After a short visit to Cowaramup, where everything revolves around the beloved cows, we went up to Cape Naturaliste. Apart from the fact that the lighthouse was completely covered due to construction work, the view on the round walk around the cape is also not that special (you see a lot of water).
It's a different story with the beaches on the east side of the cape, they are really beautiful, especially the color of the water is stunning. We ended up swimming in Bunker Bay. Although there was a shark warning, we still went in. Just never too far from the shore.
However, the advantages of this region also come at a price: You're never alone here. Fortunately, you won't find crowds like the beaches in Europe.
