What was just said casually at work is happening today: eating burgers at the world's best burger restaurant with Detlef, our former boss from Lübeck. The welcome is very warm and we can't believe that we're meeting here at the other end of the world. While people usually wait for two hours at "Fergburger", we already have our burgers in our hands after a short time. We come to the conclusion that the burgers really taste fresh and diverse, but we wonder if you can declare one burger restaurant as the world's best? Afterwards, Detlef invites us to have ice cream at the promenade and we have a long conversation with him and his wife Ines in the bright sun. It's not until the afternoon that our paths separate again and we make our way to Mount Cook - the highest mountain in New Zealand (3724m) - and spend the night at a campground at its base. However, Arnd leaves at 10:30 pm to go to the Hooker Lake, the glacier lake right by Mount Cook, to photograph stars.
