We go early to Tin Can Bay, where dolphins come into the bay every morning and can be fed. We arrive around 7:30 a.m. and one dolphin is already waiting. Twenty minutes later, two more dolphins arrive and then the feeding begins. Everyone gets a fish in their hand and can push it into the dolphin's mouth.
In the morning, we arrive in Bundaberg, home of the famous rum. First, we go to the information center because we have relatively few ideas between here and Cairns. In addition, we want to dive and snorkel a few times while we are at the Great Barrier Reef. After 90 minutes, we are richer in ideas and poorer by a few dollars. We have booked a tour for the next day to Lady Musgrave Island, which is located at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.
Afterwards, we eat at the snack bar across from Fish & Chips. Outstanding service and super delicious and cheap food before heading to the east coast. Barolin Rocks are supposed to be a beautiful snorkeling spot and even diving is offered. A really nice preview of what we will probably experience the next day. We have excellent visibility of up to 10 meters and can observe colorful corals, fish, and even turtles. All of this at a water temperature of 23 °C. It's comfortable. We stay at a freedom campground near Bundaberg as we have to get up early the next morning.
