12.07.2016 - Day trip through Venice

Day trip through Venice - at 35 degrees Celsius outside temperature, today we will try to achieve the optimal compromise between minimal movement (not successful) and maximum exploitation of fee-charging museums and churches (also not successful). The expensive combination ticket should be fully utilized, which leads to annoyance over low entrance fees of 3 euros. :-)

In the evening, we return briefly to the hotel. The many ice creams were not enough to cool down, a cold shower is needed. After a great and cozy dinner, we decide to take the shuttle boat to travel the entire Grand Canal. Accompanied by lightning over the Venetian rooftops, we enjoy the magnificent architecture, the sleeping gondolas, the illuminated restaurants, churches and palaces, and the swaying lagoon water below us, under a radiant moonlight. A gentle breeze refreshes our faces, now at only 26 degrees.

The impressions cannot be described in words. Newcomers can be recognized by their wide grins.
