Wind, rain, cold and a bit of sun

After I got a little sunburn on the first day, the first few kilometers of cycling the next day were in a thunderstorm. From Friedrichshafen onwards, I got support from my parents and we pedaled together against the wind and the rain showers. The panorama of Lake Constance and along the Rhine was still beautiful.

On the third day we started with gloves and long trousers. But the sun came out again just for the farewell photo at the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen. Thanks also to mom and dad for their loyal company! From now on we continued on alone.

Despite the bad weather, I really wanted to camp. I was the only tent on the campsite and after a fairly cold night, I missed my warm down sleeping bag. For various reasons that no longer seem relevant to me, only the thin sleeping bag went into the bike bag.

Unfortunately, it got colder and colder and the rain showers were accompanied by hailstorms. Luckily, there are cafes along the way with hot soup to warm up in. And luckily, there are dear friends who welcomed me to Basel and whose hospitality helped me forget the hardships. Many thanks to Selina and her family!
